I'm Paula, mother of a beautiful Alice, four cats, wife, an art lover, and the founder of Obsidian Drama. I came up with the idea back in 2019 when I wanted to develop a second brand with chic laser cut earrings.

The name comes from the fact that I hail from the Canary Islands, which are of volcanic origin (Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic crystal formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth) and my life is surrounded by drama, so I saw it cristal clear.

Life forced us to move out of our town, sell our beloved laser-cutter & engraver, and the project had to be put on ice.

During that time, my creative needs had to be satisfied and I started to learn to paint with watercolours and alcohol-based inks.

Later I immersed myself into digital drawing. As it was not enough, I gave resin a second chance and made earrings in this material and ventured to combine inks with my laser-cut designs.

With the encouragement of my family and the invaluable support of my husband, who is always by my side and helps me in all my projects, I became more determined to open the online shop you're visiting now.

All products are made by me, by hand, from scratch, and with a lot of love from our new home in Switzerland.
